Applying for jobs at Hotjar

Image Removed

I recently applied now the role is closed off already. What happened?

Our approach is to continue interviews with qualified candidates until we have filled the role. If you’re actively in interviews with us but you no longer see the job online, it might be because we’ve had a high volume of applicants and we need a bit of time to get back to everyone before accepting new applications. We value every candidate and their potential contributions, and we strive to provide equal consideration to all applicants throughout the entirety of our assessment process.

It’s been a while and I haven’t heard from you. Why not?

We respond to all candidates to let them know the outcome of their application at each stage in our process. However, we recognize that our email communications may occasionally encounter technical challenges, potentially landing in your Spam or Junk folder (this is particularly true during the video stage, when applicable). If you find yourself waiting beyond the timeframe indicated in a previous email or if you haven't received a confirmation email or update for your application, we kindly ask you to take a moment and check your Spam or Junk folder.

Because it’s a remote job, why does it matter what time zone or region I’m in?

Because of the way we work, most of our roles have a time zone requirement to ensure collaboration and consistent assistance for customers in those regions. We kindly request that if you do not currently reside in the specified time zones for a role, please refrain from applying as we will be unable to consider your application.

We understand that candidates may sometimes express their willingness to work according to a different time zone or region, but it's important to note that we cannot consider such requests.

Can I apply to more than one role at Hotjar?

We're thrilled by your enthusiasm and keen interest in joining Hotjar! If you’d like to apply for multiple job opportunities, we kindly request that you submit separate applications for each position. By customizing your application materials to match the specific requirements of each role, we can more effectively evaluate your qualifications and determine the best fit. Our Talent Acquisition team will thoroughly review each application independently, giving you a fair chance for all relevant positions you apply to.

Can I reapply for a role I’m interested in?

We completely understand that life brings new experiences and opportunities for growth. If you feel that you have acquired additional skills, experience, or qualifications since your last application, you’re welcome to submit a fresh application. We understand that personal and professional growth can occur at different paces for each individual. We typically recommend allowing approximately six months for acquiring additional skills and experiences that could enhance your candidacy for the same or similar positions.

I don’t see any roles that match my interest, can I send a spontaneous application?

While some companies accept unsolicited applications, we've decided to focus on candidates who have applied for specific roles. This ensures that we have an up-to-date application and CV, a clearer understanding of your goals and career interests, and offer candidates timely updates and meaningful interactions. We encourage individuals to monitor our Careers Page for job postings and submit applications when specific positions become available.

Does Hotjar require a specific CV or resumé format?

Hotjar embraces diverse CV formats and we do not have a specific preference. However, to effectively evaluate candidates, we generally find that a chronological CV in PDF version is the most effective format. This includes, but is not limited to, contact details, employment history, role responsibilities, hard skills, measurable impacts, achievements, and more. While cover letters are not mandatory, candidates can submit one with their application if they wish to offer additional insights into their career and profile. We value any supplementary information that provides a deeper understanding of your professional journey.
